Sculptra® is mainly composed of Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a substance that is biocompatible (does not cause rejection reaction in the body) and biodegradable (self-catalyzed by the body). It has been used in the medical profession for more than 30 years and can be used without skin allergy test before treatment.
Sculptra® stimulates the cells under skin to produce collagen, effectively and progressively restoring the face to fullness and firmness. Since 2005, Sculptra® has been used in more than 1.2 million people in more than 46 countries. In 2009, the US FDA officially approved the effectiveness of Sculptra® to improve aging signs.
The Sculptra® dosage will depend on the body part and condition of the treatment. After about six to eight weeks, the treatment effect of Sculptra will gradually emerge*, and the treatment effect can last up to 25 months*.
Because each person's physical condition and living habits are different, the progress and durability of the treatment effect may be different. For best results, the treatment is divided into multiple sessions, usually three to five sessions, with four to six weeks apart. Since each person's response to Sculptra® may vary, the actual number of sessions required varies. In order to reduce the pain caused by the treatment, local anesthesia may be performed before the Sculptra® injection treatment.

Treatment
-
After Sculptra® treatment, the wrinkles are filled right away.
-
After a few days, the moisture of the injection is absorbed by the body, and the wrinkles will recover slightly.
-
Sculptra® then stimulates the natural production of collagen at the bottom of the skin, thus smoothing wrinkles.
-
After about six weeks, the skin quality has improved significantly. If it is deep wrinkles, it will take several courses.
Tips:
For five consecutive days, gently massage the treated area 5 times a day for 5 minutes each time, helping the Sculptra® to be more evenly distributed under the skin.
Common side effects after treatment
-
Common reactions after treatment, including swelling, redness, pain, itching, discolouration and tenderness in the treatment area. Symptoms usually resolve automatically within 1 to 15 days after the treatment.
-
Sculptra® contains water, swelling may occur after treatment. This can last for hours or days, but the effect is temporary and does not affect final treatment result.
-
It is possible to pierce the blood vessels during the treatment, which may leads to temporary discolouring, crusting, peeling and slight scarring of the treatment area.
-
The treatment area may feel tight or bloated, which is a natural response. To help reduce the feeling of tightening or swelling, you may gently massage the treated area 5 times a day for 5 minutes each time for five consecutive days after the treatment. This massage also helps the Sculptra® to be more evenly distributed on the underlying skin.
Am I suitable for Sculptra® treatment?
-

Inform our staff about any health problems, medications and consultation experience in the past few months or now. If you have been diagnosed with simple skin herpes in the past, you need to inform the staff.
-
The treatment will be divided into multiple sessions. Please ensure that any health problems, medications and consultation experience are available to the relevant personnel before each session of treatment.
-
If you have an acute or chronic skin disease (infection or inflammation) and/or have used immunosuppressive drugs, steroids, anti-inflammatory drugs, anticoagulants or aspirin within 7 days, you should delay or avoid to take this treatment.

-
As with all treatments, the risks or complications that may occur are not exhaustive. Unpredictable complications occasionally occur, and the risk level of individual types of patients is also different.
